A little about me...

Every home has a centre. We want that centre to be a table that is about you. I’m Heler Tamás, the maker behind ExtraTable.

I’ve loved wood since childhood — my father was a wood pattern-maker, so even as a child I was captivated by wood as a material and by technical drawings. That’s why I chose a technical path!

ExtraTable didn’t start as a business, but as a passion. A few years ago I began exploring table-making, and loft / industrial style became my main inspiration.

My goal was to create furniture — with Hungarian manufacturing partners — that I design myself, pieces you won’t find in other workshops.

Every piece has its own story, character and mood — that’s what I look for and try to preserve in every project.

Uniqueness has always mattered to me. I’m not interested in template solutions, but in creating something special that stands out and carries real value.

In my work, original design, hand craftsmanship, attention to detail and quality materials are fundamentals. I love watching a raw old timber beam become, step by step, a finished, characterful table that radiates strength, imagination and individuality — stepping out of the world of disposable plastics, pressed board and flat-pack furniture!

To me a table is not just furniture, but a central element that defines the mood of a space.
